DO SOMETHING EXTRA – MDG3 CHAMPION ACTION ON FILM
The elaborate national campaign in Bangladesh is the ‘brain child’ of Ms. Geeteara Safiya Choudhury, Managing Director of the advertising company, Adcomm Ltd. – and set in motion by the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs in collaboration with NGO Mass-Line Media Centre.
Everyone is encouraged to join the MDG3 Global Call to Action with stickers, posters and banners galore. Well-known Bangladeshi professionals - from star actors to rickshaw drivers - send empowering radio and TV spots to encourage participation in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment.
Below are five samples of one-minute TV spots shown across Bangladesh. The campaign runs for a year.

Valerie Kaboré, film director and producer from Burkina Faso, has received the torch because of her succesful TV series "Ina" and her commitment to girls' education.
